Louisa Vinton
UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Croatia
Louisa Vinton assumed her function as UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Croatia on July 5th, 2010.
Previously, Ms Vinton served as a Senior Programme Manager and Team Leader for UNDP's Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS in New York (2004-2010). Prior to joining UNDP, she worked for the Economist Intelligence Unit as Editor of the newsletters Business Eastern Europe and Business Russia, covering Polish politics and economics, and Editor in Chief of the Vienna office (1994-2000). She later moved to New York to head the EIU's Executive Services division (2000-2004). Earlier, Ms Vinton worked as Senior Research Analyst at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Munich (1988-1994).
Louisa Vinton holds a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies from Cornell University, USA, and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Michigan, USA.
The United Nations agencies and organizations that operate within the UN system in Croatia are: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), The World Health Organization (WHO) The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), The World Bank (WB) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
