Respond to HIV/AIDS
Support through UN Theme Group
Project description
UN agencies that are UNAIDS cosponsors (UNICEF, UNHCR, UNDP and WHO) and are present in Croatia have formed the UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS in 2001. Their main objective is to coordinate the efforts of the UN system in support of the national response to the epidemic led by the National AIDS Commission using the mechanism and the advantages of collaborating through the joint UN response. Secretariat of the Group is based at UNDP.Three main pillars include:
Expected outputs (according to UNAIDS cross-cutting functions): 1. Strengthened National AIDS authority 2. Strengthened UN TG and its cosponsors' responses 3. Functional Partnership involving civil society and media representatives contributing to policy making 4. Programmes mobilizing major grants and funds developed 5. One Monitoring and Evaluation system 6. Strategic information on the country situation and response 7. UN CARES |
