UNDP Goes Green

UNDP Croatia is working to make sure its activities do not undermine the environment

What is UNDP Croatia doing to lighten our carbon footprint?

In line with the UN's Secretary General announced initiative on greening the UN, UNDP has committed to move towards climate neutrality in its operations, from the Country Office and throughout all projects and offices. As an international organization leading efforts to promote sustainable development throughout the world, UNDP has an important responsibility to provide a good example of environmental stewardship. In Croatia, UNDP plays a leading role in numerous sectors related to the environment, including Energy Efficiency efforts and Biodiversity protection among others. Partly because of its role as a leader on environmental issues, and partly because of the general need for organizations, businesses and governments to move towards sustainability, UNDP Croatia has begun an effort to "Green" its activities. The effort began with the adoption of a "Environmental Policy"in late 2007, and has continued.

Some resources available for Office Greening Activities:

- Office emissions calculator. - Note that this is not an official UNDP carbon emissions calculator, but can be a useful guide for a company/ organization wishing to measure its climate impact.
